ULTIMATE WISH CLASSIC HISTORY

This is the 9th year Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee has sponsored a meet to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.

Over the years, we have raised over $190,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.  Each wish costs an average of $5000, which means to date we’ve been able to help grant 38 wishes!  These wishes included trips to Disney, room makeovers, meeting a special person, and getting a pony.

We’ve met many wonderful families and special children during the years.  We’ve laughed with their triumphs and applauded their courage.  It’s a humbling experience to be in the presence of such special people. 

Each year we conduct a cartwheel-a-thon and a leotard sale to help raise money as well.  Last year, Maximum Gymnastics and Balance Institute held their own fundraising event to contribute additional money to the cause.
